Online Places to Advertise Your Screenplay

One of the most difficult parts of screenwriting is selling your screenplay. If you have an agent, they are there to help. But if you write more independent material, or are just starting out in the business, how do you find potential producers, directors or agents?

There are a few options for screenwriter's that are looking to place their scripts online for potential option or acquisition. Most are for feature-length screenplays, though some have categories for shorts. We were unable to find a site (besides, Scripts by Women, that had a category for New Media Scripts). Below are some of the sites we have found:

  • Inktip - For $40 you can post your screenplay for 6 months. They are one of the larger services with a good track record and screening of professionals that have access to their service.
  • Hollywoodlitsales - Has an online story database you can submit to
  • Screenwritersvault - Pitch your movie for film executives and producers to read. 30 days posting of one project is $39.95
  • Screenwritersmarket - A simple, free site with a message board you can post to as well as a logline listing of scripts
  • Screenscripts - Minimum fee to have your logline and synopsis posted
  • New England Film - You can post your title and a basic description for free
  • Simply Scripts Unproduced Script Showcase
  • ScreenplayShop - a relatively new site with a few listings, but may grow to a larger site so it doesn't hurt to list!
